Get ready for an unforgettable day to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with the Monterey County Pops! and the City of Marina! Join us on January 20th at the stunning MLK Jr. Sculpture Garden outside the Marina Library, where the air will be filled with the sweet sounds of inspirational, jazz, blues, and a delightful mix of tunes starting at 12:30 p.m.
Featuring Jackie Craghead, vocalist, opening with the “Star Spangled Banner” and Brenda Thomas, vocalist, rendering “Upon this Rock.”
This is a perfect opportunity to come together as a community, honor the legacy of MLK, and enjoy a day filled with joy, music, and inspiration. Let's make some noise and celebrate unity in the most melodious way possible!
The City of Marina is rolling out the red carpet for the first 250 guests free, serving up mouth-watering southern foods from Kona Jerry's starting at 11:45 a.m. But that's not all! Arrive early at 10 a.m. for a lineup of activities that promise to be a fun experience for the whole family. And let’s not forget the heart of the event - an uplifting ceremony that pays tribute to the incredible legacy of MLK Jr. and the powerful message of justice he stood for. This is your chance to be part of something truly special, honoring a life that inspires us all!
And do not worry about the weather – if the skies do not cooperate, we will move the fun indoors to the Rocky Han Community Center, 211 Hillcrest Avenue, Marina, CA 93933. Do not miss making memories that matter!
